Lesson Plan:
Step 1:
Listen/watch TED Talk, an oral essay.
Take notes! See if you can determine the structure of the essay: what is the main argument? What are the main points and supporting proof provided to support that argument?
Step 2: Compare your version to Mrs. J's version. Structure posted in class for future reference.
Step 3: Discuss ESSAY STRUCTURE
Step 4: Review Where's the beef? and what should make up the meat of your argument.
Step 5: Look at student CASI responses and see how we can elaborate on them.
